Royalist officer captured at Battle of Worcester 1651, sent to Va. via Barbadoes, ransomed himself, got a grant of 500 A. "Turkey Buzzard Island", Calvert Co., near the Patuxent. Owned 4000+ A. ("Graignaigh", "Dumblane", "Good Luck", "Anchovie Hills") by his death.

His will is transcribed in Index of Md. Wills, App. II, pp. 542-543. Ref. there is: "Calvert Co. Wills 5, folio 261. Original Will M#19, at Hall of Records, Annapolis, Md. Inventory & Accounts 4, folio 606 - Inventory appraised 14 Sep, 1677." Will dated 10 Feb 1676 names wife Elizabeth who has three children; sons Alexander, Nathaniell, James, John, Samuell (last three apparently under age of twenty); dau. (apparently unm.) Elizabeth.
